9 Month Anniversary!!

[Insert Big Wave]
So this was me:
&& I actually enjoyed straight hair on me.. I was never a fan of curly/kinky hair and I DEFINITELY didn’t like the idea of my edges being anything but straight!!
BUT only on good days did my hair look presentable. I was addicted to relaxers and use to get a relaxer maybe once every month or two [which is NOT good]!!
My best friend is natural and have been for some time now and I just loved how her hair was. Back in the day I had “started” to go natural a LOT of times. Going so far as to buying products and whatnot. I was VERY impatient with the transitioning process though and then my edges!
I’d freak out just thinking about them flaring up…
WELP» To skip the rambling I FINALLY starting transitioning November of 2011. Didn’t take too many pictures within that time frame but I kept my hair in protective styles that looked good when they got old:

Anywho.. I was reluctant to cutting my hair and doing the big chop. So I tried to outlast the transitioning process. However, I hated how my roots were getting this cute curly look and my ends were still straight and uneven and bushy looking. I attempted to do styles and whatnot but they never turned out how I pictured them on to happen:

My dang hair just WOULDNT curl up!! It was just looking like a big ass puff on the top of my head. Thank goodness I had some cuteness about me or I would’ve really been a hot ass mess… Lol.
-FINALLY- July 13, 2012 I decided to do my Big Chop! I had built up enough courage to say the heck with it.. I’d already worn my hair SO many different ways that I figured I could pull off the BC. HOWEVER in my mind I didn’t think that after I’d be left with almost NO hair Lol:

I was in panic mode &&& liberated all at the same time!!
I left my best friendss house thinking WTF AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY HAIR!!

I started learning how to do Bantu Knots & Two Strand Twists.
I was learning different smoothies and concoctions to eat and drink lol.. I was taking this natural things SERIOUS!

Shrinkage is REAL! I use to really hate that… But then I use to like being able to pull on it and whatnot..

I put it in a protective style… I was getting ready to transition to ATL [where I live now]… && I didn’t feel like havig to deal with twisting it up and whatnot… SO once again I got some Marley Twist [I LOVE MARLEY TWIST]…

March 2013— I made a uh-oh!
I started out with my Marley Twist
THEN I went to the hair dresser && the sweet lady gave me a silk press [DO NOT EVER EVER EVER GET ONE OF THESE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOU CURL PATTERN!!!!!]
ALTHOUGH I thought I was the SHIT.. I’m still TODAY working out reverting my curly coils back to their original state…
BUT here’s my length now…

EVEN though I managed to bring a curl BACK to my hair it’s NOT the same as before. Youtube videos persuaded me to try the beer rinse SO I will be trying that soon… But as far as that Silk Press…
WELP in a nutshell THIS has been my 9 month journey THUS FAR.. && really OTHER than the silk press I have no complaints about going natural. The best hair decision I’ve ever made!! I’m obsessed with my hair. I’m obsessed with twisting my hair and trying new methods. I’m obsessed with trying new shampoos and conditioners and leave in and making my own conditioner. Just recently I taught myself how to do my own Marley Twist. Nothing like when my besty does them BUT they lasted a week LOL.

It was requested through an inbox that I start a visual session. Where now all I do is write out my Guru Words of Wisdom, I was asked to do a Vlog for my streamers whom have little time to read.
*This will be on a trial basis… Perhaps about a 2 month trial run to see how well my readers will adapt to being my viewers… If successful I will incorporate a tab for my streamers!*

I am VERY excited to say that the first of the copies of A Poetic Misunderstanding were handed out today!! Volume 1 is said to be the start to a great trilogy. Future Volumes 2 & 3 will not be released until later in 2013. No specific date set.

“A Poetic Misunderstanding”
That is the title of the upcoming poetry book written by Yours Truly. There will be all original poetry throughout the book.
”My poetry captures all of my experiences and feelings. I become a realist in some of my poetry. I’m a hopeless romantic in other poems. I have a sensual side where I just want to be held. I feel like I am ready to cast some light upon who I am. Different people know me in different ways and this book will sum all the personalities up. My goal is to not only show who I am as an individual, but also have people be able to pick a poem out and feel like wow this is ME.. So I’m looking forward to putting this out”
A Poetic Misunderstanding is projected to be released in the early part of 2013. Firstly being distributed to a few open minded people for reviews and then to the public. SO keep your eyes open this and support support support!!
